Yes!!! The plot sounds too ridiculous to even be made into a movie. I know it was a book first cuz my sis read it but that is no justification for it to be turned into a movie. Thanks for the site , I come here almost everyday too.

Good. I got halfway through that book, but I found it a bit boring. It might make a good movie, but I’m just not that interested in it. I’m glad Kaya’s not in it…as of right now…
Yay, so this means that she still has time for more near-future projects. Maybe she’ll consider playing Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games movie?! Now that was a good book, and I can see her as the main character, Katniss ;)

CC – I love both Kaya and The Hunger Games, but I don’t think Kaya should play Katniss – I think that she may be a bit too petite to do the action scenes required to play that character (Katniss is not petite – she’s skinny, there is a difference), and Katniss has darker hair and skin than Kaya does. And I do think they would cast an American actor, as the books are set in America.

Actors in action movies do training for the action sequences, so I think it’s fine. And I’ve seen Kaya in pictures with dark hair, and as for her skin color, they can just do a non-trashy spray tan or she can just go to the beach before filming, or lots of makeup. Also, many actors change their accents for movies (look at Rachel Weiz in The Lovely Bones), so it’s not a problem. But I definitely believe Kaya has the acting chops for a role like Katniss, from what I’ve seen of her in Skins. Acting is the most important thing to me. Kaya has that for Katniss :)

My biggest concern isn’t that she has a British accent, it’s that she is not American and Katniss is. That might upset some fans. I don’t know if you were involved with the Georgia Nicholson fandom, but when it was announced that there would be a film adaption of those novels, a lot of people where afraid that an American girl would be cast to play the main character who is British. And while this was not the case, the idea STILL manages to upset fans. The same thing happened with Harry Potter – they wanted to cast Americans actors to play British characters, but JKR did not want that and insisted that British actors were cast to play the trio. Katniss is an American character that should be played by an American actress. Playing her would be a great opportunity for an American actress (hopefully an unknown one)!
I hope I’m not sounding too harsh, I love both Kaya and Skins, but I just really hope Kaya doesn’t get involved in The Hunger Games.

No, you’re not sounding harsh. Although you have a point that some fans would be upset that if they cast a British actress, such as Kaya, but others wouldn’t. There are legitimately a lot of HG fans that want her ask Katniss, which I understand and support. Also, I just wanted to point out that Katniss isn’t technically American because the books are set a few hundred years in the futue as you know, and the country isn’t called America, as you know. But whoever gets cast in the end should be the best Katniss there is. I, along with many others, just happen to think Kaya is the best one ;)

I read the Uglies trilogy ages ago, it was a fantastic piece of teenage sci-fi. But I’m not sure if it’d work, I think Kaya is far too pretty!
As we’re on about sci-fi teenage fiction, I imagine that she’d be perfect in A Great And Terrible Beauty,as Pippa Cross.
CC, I really can’t wait for the last Hunger Games book. Already got my reservation in :D I don’t want their to be a film about it though, it’s too complex, too real. I feel a film version would destroy some of that magic.

Well right now, it appears to be just speculation and wishful thinking that Kaya should portray Katniss in the Hunger Games. She is the fan favourite at the moment. When articles turn towards actual casting rumours is when I plan on asking about The Hunger Games. I haven’t read the books yet, so I can’t say if I think she will be good for the part, but I would love for her to get more projects and continue her career.

NOT Kaya!! Are you people crazy???
First of all, Kaya is 5 foot 7. Katniss is supposed to be tiny!! Also, Katniss is OLIVE skinned, not pale, pale white like Kaya. And in case you don’t know what olive is: http://www.squidoo.com/Best_Makeup_for_Olive_Skin_Tone
*gasp* Katniss isn’t white?? OF COURSE NOT!! It’s the future, mostly everyone is going to be biracial!
AND Katniss is supposed to have and angular face. Kaya’s face has more soft features.
And it’s not like I dislike Kaya or anything. I’m actually a fan of Skins, so I really do like her!! She just doesn’t fit Katniss’ description!
If you want to know who would make a good Katniss, search up Seychelle Gabriel
